2011 Canadian Winter Games Team Ontario training initiative
AOS News Update Nov. 2009: 2011 CWG Team Ontario training initiative
The AOS priority for 2011 CWG Snowboard Team Ontario is athlete preparation. 20-24 athletes from Stage 4 and 5, Train to compete and Learn to Win stages of the LTAD will be selected to participate in training opportunities leading up to the 2011 Canada Winter Games. Selections will include the use of National ranking, year over year improvement, as well as an assessment of each athlete’s current training programs, to establish their potential for a position on Snowboard Team Ontario in 2011. The AOS would like to offer three avenues of auxiliary programs for potential Team Ontarioathletes.
- sport specific, physiological conditioning program
- an individual nutritional assessment
- sport psychology sessions
