Racing Programs
Alpine has always prided itself in having quality programs. The philosophy is to offer skill development from beginner to advanced levels. Within each ability and age level within our Race Programs, we provide a well defined athlete oriented progression. For more information on these programs please refer to the season descriptions. Entry Level –Nancy Greene 7 to 10 year olds
The entry level Nancy Greene Training Squad and the Nancy Greene League provides a program for 7 to 10 year olds. The Nancy Greene Ski League has operated across Canada since 1968 and has a history of creating lasting memories and excellent skiers. Emphasis is on fostering a love for the sport while developing FUNdamental skills required to become a more confident skier.
K1 Programs for 11 and 12 year olds
The K1 League is for aged 11-12. Emphasis is on development and fun as athletes compete in a team based program. The K1 individual series will consist of 5 individual events held during the season with a quota being allotted to each club in AOSD.
K1 athletes are allowed to race in both the league and individual series but they are allowed a maximum of 13 race starts.
K2 Programs for 13 and 14 year olds
In Southern Ontario there are two streams of programs for teens aged 13 & 14. Racers can choose to compete in a team based recreational league or compete in an individual series. The team based league is the Mackenzie K2 League and the individual series is the Mars K2 Race Series.
J1/J2 and FIS Programs for 15 to 19 year olds
Depending on region, ski clubs across Ontario offer two streams of programs for teens aged 15 to 19. Racers can choose to compete in a team based recreational league or compete in an individual series. The Hershey League has become a fun place for older teen racers to continue to develop strong technical skills, while enjoying a less structured environment. Adults like to Race too!
For members that want to participate in a fun team environment there is the Sunday Fun and Glory house league. This unique program welcomes every level of racer from aspiring beginner to avid competitor. Adult or Masters racing is for intermediate to advanced skiers aged 19 and over. Some racers in these circuits compete well into their eighties.
